Saatva Mattress Reviews of 2020 (Updated)

Saatva is an e-commerce site, based in New York, which specializes in luxury comfort mattresses. Saatva mattresses has since then launched two other brands, Loom and Leaf and Zenhaven.

Since being established in 2010 and starting sale in 2011, they have grown to be loved by diverse groups of people, because of their focus towards eco-friendly production and clear and honest marketing.

The Lineal Adjustable Base:

The main attraction from Saatva is perhaps their Lineal Adjustable Base. This remote controlled base is designed to go with Saatva mattress, so you get the whole experience!

A few of the amazing key-features of this base are:

  1. A simple one-touch remote system allows you to switch between the different modes such as reading, working, sleeping or living.
  2. As stated by most reviews, it is great for balancing and keeps you feeling weightless.
  3. To help you find a lost ring, or enhance the lives of people with some sort of night-blindness, a light is located at the bottom of the base, controlled by the remote.
  4. The base also acts as a full-body massager, head massager or leg massager, working at your body at different speeds!
  5. The base is anti-microbial.
  6. No noise whatsoever is produced, making it quietest around!
  7. The adjustable base is available in 6 sizes (Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King).
  8. The base costs between $1,199-$2,498, making it expensive, but with the features it provides, it is quite the worth!

2. White Glove Delivery:

3. Anti-Allergenic:

Saatva almost always uses organic materials while manufacturing the mattresses, along with compounds that are gentle on your skin, to avoid any allergic reactions, thus being ideal for people with sensitive skin or people prone to allergies!

Saatva mattresses are also sure to arrive free from bed bugs or termites. The beds are anti-microbial and are generally airy and breathy!

4. Return and Trial Policies:

Saatva allows a 120-night trial, so you can decide if your sleep buddy is worth the payment! Saatva also offers financing without interests through Klarna, while payment is possible with any card, PayPal or Amazon Pay. Besides this, their return policies are also pretty generous and caring!

5. Customer Service:

Excluding the chat option when you first open the Saatva website, their customer care helpline is available 24/7 for any queries or issues regarding your mattress!

6. Availability of Heights and Comfort Levels:

Besides the general 6 sizes, Saatva offers two different heights, 11.5’’ and 14.5’’, along with three comfort/firmness levels; Plush Soft, Luxury Firm and Firm. Saatva mentions that their Plush Soft isn’t the softest and their firm isn’t the most solid and hard, so if you prefer extremely firm or cushiony beds, Saatva may not be for you!

7. Foundations and Frames:

On the same page as where the mattress is listed, Saatva offers foundations and adjustable frames. While the Saatva frame is fully adjustable to any size to any size, the foundation is available in heights of 4.75’’ and 8.75’’ for all sizes, with split option for the Queen size.

Saatva Mattress – The Cons

1. Lack of Models:

Perhaps the biggest turnoff from Saatva is that they offer only one mattress, with the same textures and material properties, just with different heights or softness. It can be good for people who have trouble choosing, but for those who prefer variety, it comes out as a disappointing feature!

2. Lack of Motion Isolation:

Saatva mattresses don’t possess the quality of motion isolation from one end of the bed to another, so you partner can wake up if they are a light sleeper and you move around more, which can be annoying to couples.

3. Difficult to Move:

Saatva mattresses may be luxurious, but so are heavy and difficult to move, and one individual may not be able to flip, transport or rotate the mattress without help of a second person.

4. Shorter Lifespan:

Unlike other mattress brands that offer the same materials, Saatva mattresses may get worn out before their time. This may be covered in the warranty, but it can be a hassle.

Best Suited for Sleepers who…

Saatva mattress is a perfect choice for almost everyone. For lightweight sleepers Plush Soft is recommended to people weighing below 130 pounds. For heavier sleepers, Saatva Firm and Luxury Firm are more suitable keeping the support they require in order to sleep peaceful and comfortable.

The Saatva mattress is fairly bouncy and extremely responsive, however its Luxury Firm and Plush Soft mattress are said to be better than the Firm mattress for sex.

Temperature Maintaining…

Usually mattresses containing foam or memory foam make you sleep the hotter but Saatva mattress  has a very traditional innerspring construction and it falls on the cooler mattresses side and is one of the best options in today’s market as compared to other all-foam competitors.

Its Durability…

Just like most good quality and known brand innerspring mattresses, that last somewhat between good six to seven years; Saatva mattresses are not far behind and is up to the par with their lifespan. Although, Euro-top construction mattresses are generally linked with below-average durability.

Motion Isolation of Saatva Mattress…

Saatva mattress absorbs and minimizes motion to some extent but not much, just like other innerspring mattresses. This however, may be a problem for sleepers who share bed with a partner or a pet. Poor motion isolation can result in sleep disruptions.

Unbiased Opinion on Saatva Mattress

Being one of the few eco-friendly manufacturers around seems cool, with average price points and great comfort and support. Because of their good qualities, Saatva has become sort of a renowned name.

But the brand offers very small range of decisions you can make, which is irking to customers or potential buyers.

Their other products, like the Lineal, frames and foundations cost decently minimal sum of money for the benefits they provide. But even without them, Saatva is not wrong when it calls itself a top luxury mattress brand. And without wondering, we can see how their Luxury Firm is a best seller among the mass!
